GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is responsible for implementing treatment programs based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor. The RBT is expected to review the treatment plan periodically and implement ABA strategies. These strategies are designed to increase the likelihood of adaptive and socially significant behaviors as well as decrease the likelihood of maladaptive behaviors that interfere with the clint’s ability to learn and function at their highest level of independence. The RBT assists with preference assessments and functional analyses, conducts direct observations, collects data, summarizes data, documents training progress, provides parent training, and implements treatment plans as directed by the Clinical Supervisor. Interventions are provided during intense one on one training sessions, requiring high levels of energy and enthusiasm maintained throughout the program day. The RBT receives clinical supervision and/or coaching from the Clinical Supervisor, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
EDUCATION REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED required. College level courses in behavioral science areas preferred (psychology, social work, sociology, rehabilitation, education, etc.) or training in ABA, and/or experience working with children/adolescents with autism in a group, individual, or classroom setting.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Must be registered with the BACB as a Registered Behavior Technician or willing to pursue registration. Must have and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license and must be insurable on the Center’s insurance. No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years, must have proof of current liability insurance.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Experience working with children, especially children with intellectual disabilities or autism, and/or with implementation of ABA techniques preferred.
Certification in CPR/AED, First Aid, and Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior (PMAB). Other training and/or certification deemed necessary by TXMHMR or this Center.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Basic knowledge of principles of working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a part of a team. Willingness to learn and grow professionally. Adequate and appropriate communication with staff and supervisors for continual progression of treatment plans. Ability to work within a deadline-intense environment. Demonstrate problem-solving and customer services skills. Knowledge of consents and confidentiality. Works ethically and with integrity and follows the BACB Ethical Code. Demonstrates accuracy the thoroughness.
|Salary Range:||$2,142- $2,587 month|
|Shift:||Full Time: Monday - Friday, 8a.m. - 5p.m.|
