Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) is a federally mandated program that is applied to all individuals seeking admission to a Medicaid-certified nursing facility regardless of funding source. The PASRR service coordinator administers the PASRR Level 1 (PL1) to all individuals seeking entry into a nursing facility. The PL1 will identify individuals who have a mental illness, and intellectual disability or a developmental disability (also known as related conditions), the appropriateness of placement in the nursing facilities, and the eligibility for specialized services. The position will require working with nursing facilities, hospitals, doctor offices, families and patients. Timely administration of the PL1 and good documentation is a requirement. The PASRR service coordinator will carry a caseload of individuals with a diagnosis of IDD who currently live in a nursing facility.
Minimum of Bacelor's Degree with a major in a social, behavioral, or human service field including, but not limited to, psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human development, gerontology, educational psychology, education, and criminal justice.
Valid Texas Driver's License and must be insurable on MHMR's vehicle insurance is a requirement.
Prefer one year experience in like or similar position, either public or private. Education will be considered in lieu of experience.
Demonstrated, either through experience or education, ability to work in a rapic pace environment in an organized and professional manner. Ability to self-monitor production and quality with minimal assistance. Basic knowledge and familiarity with data systems including business software such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to develop productive relationships with individuals and family members that focus on individual specific outcomes. Ability to recognize barriers and coordinate issues between service systems, and to advocate effectively for individuals served. Organizational and typing skill are a must. The ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. The ability to work as a team member in a diverse environment interfacing with both public and private providers.
