Manager of Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) provides Leadership and oversight to MCOT Case Managers and MCOT on-call workers. Manager of MCOT will provide and/or coordinate crisis interventions during regular business hours of 8-5; Monday-Friday. Manager maintains readiness after hours for immediate crisis direction and resolution from on-call workers (OCW) on issues that are extraordinary where on-call workers need assistance.
Manager of MCOT also serves as the Continuity of CARE (COC) Liaison for the Local Mental Health Authority (LMHA). COC Liaison follows patient treatment at the state hospital level of care and serves to connect individuals discharging from the state hospital system to outpatient services with LMHA and/or in the community. MCOT operates in conjunction with the crisis hotline (AVAIL) to help coordinate care in emergent/urgent situations, or to plan crisis follow-up care for a child or adolescent or adult in their natural setting/environment.
Manager of MCOT will provide administrative oversight of the MCOT program. This includes but is not limited to – Participating in agency and community meetings, reporting responsibilities relating to center crisis activities, crisis utilization management, crisis data entries, and scheduling crisis on-call rotation for non-regular business hours. The employee will implement the principles of trauma-informed care including cultural sensitivity in all areas of service delivery.
EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum number of hours that is equivalent to a major from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Medicine, Nursing, Rehabilitation, Counseling, Sociology, Human Growth and Development, Physician Assistant, Gerontology, Special Education, Educational Psychology, Early Childhood Education, and or Early Childhood Intervention.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid Texas driver’s license and must be insurable and remain insurable on MHMR Services for the Concho Valley center’s insurance. Must not have more 3 moving violation in the last 3 years, and proof of current liability insurance. Must be willing to work towards certification as a Qualified Mental Health Provider-CS.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: At least one (1) year of clinically appropriate experience in treatment of persons with mental illness, chemical dependency and IDD. Applicants with additional years of direct experience preferred. Spanish speaking applicants preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Working knowledge of clinical/nursing practices and procedures. Ability to apply professional nursing skills, techniques and methods. Knowledge of medical office procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of resources used on the job, such as medical reference and drug books. Ability to read and interpret physician’s orders. Ability to plan, organize and perform work in an efficient and timely manner. Ability to perform work requiring attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively, to exercise good judgment and to establish good relationships with patients and coworkers. Demonstrated, either through experience or education, ability to work in a rapid pace environment in an organized and professional manner. Ability to self-monitor production and quality with minimal assistance. Basic knowledge and familiarity with business software such as Microsoft Word and Excel. The ability to work as a team member in a diverse environment interfacing with both internal and external customers and providers.
