The ABC Center Records/Receptionist/Insurance Clerk will maintain clinical records. Will process requested records; provide typing of documents, reports, and progress notes. Will be responsible for filing/scanning; confirming appointments and checking patients in and collect co-pays. Will be responsible for keeping up with data and entering information as well as preparing invoices for the various programs. Assist with records reviews for professional staff purposes of Determination of Autism/IDD, Professional Assessments and Updates, data collection for tracking of services and outcomes; and answering telephone calls. This position will do verifications of insurance coverage and pre-certification, filing insurance claims and following up for approvals. Assist clients with completing applications for the various programs. Responsible for day to day operations of the front area. Monitors the lobby for cleanliness and order regularly. Must be able to multitask and work in a fast environment. Responsible for all duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduation from a standard high school or provide documentation that the General Equivalency Examination has been obtained. Familiarity with claims processing and health related account and collection work. Six months experience in clerical and/or medical clinic preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Must possess a valid Texas driver's license and be insurable on the Center's insurance policy. Additionally, no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Considerable knowledge of business English and office practices. Knowledge of clerical functions and clinical records. Ability to perform tasks requiring attention to detail. Ability to be flexible. Demonstrates working knowledge of medical billings, third party reimbursement Medicaid, Blue Cross and commercial insurance coverage required; effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills to interact with providers, patients, and insurance companies; displays basic knowledge of insurance verification process; problem solving; organizational and time management skills; customer service oriented; skills in maintaining information as highly confidential and strong computer skills.
|Salary:||$1,624 - $1,823 monthly|
|Hours:||Monday -Friday, 8a.m. -5p.m.|
